Homework Policy
It is board policy to provide homework in an effort to reinforce skills taught during the school day. Homework should not take more than 45 minutes per night. Typically, 4th grade homework consists of a daily math page. These pages should be done independently by the student. However, we strongly believe that no child should work to the point of frustration. If frustration does occur, we ask that parents send a note to their child's teacher who will provide remediation.
In addition, students are expected to use homework time to study for upcoming tests and quizzes, with students managing their time as needed. Study and time management skills will be taught in class, and reinforcement from parents is helpful. Our goal is that when your child enters 5th grade, they are confident, organized, and independent during homework and study times.
