Excel TECC Marketing students competed in DECA State competition

The students of Mrs. Getz’s Beachwood Excel TECC Marketing Class recently competed in DECA State competitive events in Columbus in March. DECA is an international organization of marketing students that provides various competitions and leadership programs for students at the high school and collegiate level.  Ten Beachwood Marketing students competed at the contest including West Geauga High School’s seniors Molly Szucs, Susan Joseph, Bethany Katzenstein and Michael Koller.

West Geauga’s Super Scientists
State Science Day will be held Saturday, May 10, at The Ohio State University. Over 700 participants from across Ohio will present their research projects, in The French Field House, to a panel of volunteer judges.  Congratulations to (juniors) Kirstin Boni, Patrick Drockton, Daniel Hartman, Lilly Makee and (sophomore) Opal Contizano who earned the privilege of competing in Columbus this year. These super scientists became eligible for State Science Day by earning a Superior Rating at their District Science Day which was held at the University of Akron on March 15, 2014.

'SuperBand' More Than Super
Congratulations are extended to the West Geauga 'SuperBand' (Symphonic and Concert Bands) who recently gave two wonderful performances - the first at the Field Museum of Natural History and the second at the VanderCook College of Music in Chicago.  Thank you to our participants and the West Geauga Band Directors for providing a proud representation of the West Geauga Local School District.

Open enrollment applications are now being accepted. Our Open Enrollment period is between April 1 and April 30. Applications are submitted online. Please find the 'Open Enrollment' tab in the left menu of the district homepage.
Drinking Water Notice

Monitoring Requirement NOT met for West Geauga Campus

We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During the Fourth Quarter of 2013 time period we did not monitor for the following contaminants and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time

Congratulations to the West Geauga Symphonic Band
The West Geauga Symphonic Band competed at the OMEA Northeast Regional District 6 Senior High Band and Choir Adjudicated Event Large Group contest on March 8, 2014. They received a rating of '1' from all 4 judges at this event, for an overall rating of '1'. This is the highest possible rating a performing group can receive at an OMEA District Contest.

American Commodore Tuxedo

American Commodore Tuxedo will be available during lunch periods on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 15th and 16th. Order, pick up and return at school and NO driving around town. 

Pick up and pay for your tuxedo at lunch on Wednesday, May 14th. You can drop off your tuxedo at the High School before the After Prom party.

The West Geauga Board of Education is pleased to announce the move to all-day, tuition free Kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year.
West Geauga High School Receives 2013 National Blue Ribbon School Recognition
The entire West Geauga Local School District extends congratulations to West Geauga High School as it receives the 2013 National Blue Ribbon School plaque and flag signifying the high school's exemplary status. This honor was received at the annual National Blue Ribbon Schools Recognition Ceremony in Washington, D.C.  At the ceremony, school representatives and supporters had an opportunity to share ideas, converse with USDE officials about excellence in education and attend a networking reception.
