As a world outreach project, students at Lindsey Elementary School held a fundraiser for the Ng’abolo School in Nanyuki, Kenya. The students made rubber band bracelets and colorful duct tape wallets and sold the items during their lunch periods. Along with selling of the items, they held a raffle to raise money for school supplies for the students in this small market town in Africa. This small group of students came up with the idea on their own. They met with Principal Bernacki to assist with their endeavor. The students learned about the small town and the school through connections Mr. Bernacki had with a teacher at the school. Through the use of modern technology, the students researched the town and saw a video of the school. With the completion of their fundraising efforts, the students raised a total of $193.00 for the students of Ng’abolo School.
